Gigi likes to sniff all the scents on the farm and is always open to a nice belly rub. Everyone can tell when Gigi and Botero are sleeping—they snore because of their flat noses! While neither of them have a driver’s license, it doesn’t stop them from exploring every inch of Rushy Marsh Farm!

Fun Fact: Pugs were once the favorite pets of Chinese emperors!

  • Chiquita and Chula

Chiquita and Chula are Rushy Marsh Farm’s two female donkeys, also known as “jennies.” This dynamic duo spends their time in a sunny paddock, where they run around and munch on hay when they need a snack. Fun Fact: Donkeys have amazing memories and can remember other animals, people, and places for many years.

  • Hippo

A pony named Hippo? Her name is a little silly—and her personality lives up to her name. She is full of sass and is not afraid to show it. The other horses look up to Hippo as the alpha of the herd. While the hippo is one of the largest mammals on land, as a dwarf pony Hippo is actually quite small! Even though her legs aren’t that long, Hippo loves to run and feel the wind in her mane.

Fun Fact: Mini ponies only grow to thirty-eight inches tall!

Meet the birds!

  • Galu

Rushy Marsh Farm’s macaw, Galu, loves to make new friends. Whenever someone new comes to visit, he shows them a trick, like hanging from his beak. Now that’s one way to do a pull-up! Galu also enjoys listening to music and bobs his head to the beat.

Meet the chickens!

Rushy Marsh Farm is home to a number of chickens, including fluffy Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, speckled Barred Plymouth Rocks, and light Brahmas. The hens lay eggs in a cozy spot in their coop. All of our chickens are very food-driven: They gobble up each meal, and in between mealtimes, they scratch the ground looking for worms and insects.

Meet the pigs, rabbit, & ducks!

  • Oliver

Oliver the potbellied pig is gentle and shy, but he’ll be your friend if you give him an apple—that’s his favorite snack. When the weather is warm, Oliver likes to cool off by playing in the mud. He’s not afraid to get a little dirty!

  • Cha-Cha

Cha-Cha, a Vietnamese potbellied pig, is the leader of Rushy Marsh Farm! Kind and wise, Cha-Cha strolls around the barn to make sure everything is going right and up to her standards. Our crested ducks spend their time waddling around with the tortoises, splashing in water, and eating the mealworms that are mixed into their food.

Fun Fact: Crested ducks get their name from the fluffy feather tuft on their heads.

  • Coco

Coco is a Flemish giant rabbit. His big ears let him hear all of the comings and goings on the farm.
